DeeJayKwest Jonathan Willis Long Beach A Mississippi native, Jonathan Willis aka DJ Kwest, began his music career as most artist by first being a fan of the music. He started by playing for eclectic crowds at various parties, competition events, bars, and venues along his hometown region of the Gulf Coast. His early days were dominated by the distinct and original hip-hop sounds of the south as well as various hip-hop artists. As he probed deeper into the endless space of different music genres, he quickly became deeply engaged in the world of EDM. His passion for music as a whole, his roots in hip hop, and his love of the pace of EDM led him to entangle various music worlds and crossing lines between genres in such a way that had crowds dancing through the night and into the sunrise. He was one of the original members of the gulf coasts very first -Dubstep Mondays, which made front page news for drawing massive crowds and changing the local EDM scene on the coast, drawing in many of the regions biggest local and international Electronic/Dubstep artist. He was an opening act for the Insomniac & Bassrush Presentation of Dieselboy & Vaski 2011 Tour. He was also invited to be the opening act for the 2012 Excision X-Tour in Mobile, AL. Shortly after he was playing venues from the beaches of Mississippi to Florida. A well recognized and high energy local dj, he was asked to be the very first electronic artist to close both nights of Gulfport Music Fest 2012, closing for acts like Gary Allen and Nelly. A devout music lover himself, he has traveled to many music festivals and venues across the country to see the artist that have influenced his style and life to experience and learn how to amplify his ability to deliver the highest energy, best music, and best dance floor medium to his audience.
