Decoded was conceived in Los Angeles in 2012 & is comprised of Derek Jordan (Vocals and Guitar) and Heather Miller (Drums).
With pop arrangements, catchy hooks and added elements of grunge, blues, classic rock, lounge, Native American influenced rhythms and melodies, the band not only grabs your attention with songs but has also been able to create their own sonic niche in the flooded landscape of sub-genres.
In addition to their memorable songs, the organic rock group is most known for captivating live shows and relentless work ethic. Greg Shaw of Nanbot Rock Reviews stated "When Decoded comes through your town, if you’re not first in line for their show, you better be dead. Great things are sure to come to Decoded unlike most of the Treefort Fest attendees I have the privilege of saying I was there and what I saw was life-changing." According to Nicholas Pell of LA Weekly, Decoded's "a band that gives a shit. Their music rocks, in that it makes you want to sing along.”
Decoded has toured all over the Northwestern United States supporting their 2013 EP release "Topanga". Locally in Los Angeles the band has played notable venues such as Viper Room, The Roxy, Hemingways, and The Satellite.
Decoded started working with Vanessa Silberman (Singer, Guitarist and Founder of the LA band Diamonds Under Fire) and her Artist Development Label: A Diamond Heart Production in the summer of 2014 and the band is currently in pre-production with Vanessa, who will be producing their next EP.
The band will release a Deluxe Edition of their successful "Topanga" EP on July 14th, 2015. Which was produced by Davey Rieley, who also produced their 2012 "The/Split" EP and who's credits range from LCD Soundsystem, Rise Against to Elvis Costello. The "Topanga" Deluxe Edition EP will include a remix by Mark Needham (Credits include The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Neon Trees) of their hit single "Topanga", as well as a newly recorded bonus track, "Love is Dead", produced by Vanessa Silberman. The Deluxe Edition will be released under "A Diamond Heart Production" label. Their single "Topanga" off of the EP received national radio play on over 120 college radio stations and reached #1 for 4 weeks at 88.7FM WPCD in Champaign, IL.
