OT Live Midi Recording Filter Sweep by DeckardTrinity published on 2013-06-09T15:01:58Z A couple of tests of the Octatrack's Live Midi recording functionality. It seems to be dropping notes here and there when recording more than one note at a time (this example is using two note chords). It also seems to not be tracking all of the smooth filter knob movements (via one of the CC param knobs on the OT). In both demos the Octatrack first starts with a four beat metronome lead-in before it begins recording. Then it records for four measures (64 steps total) @ 120BPM. I am playing notes from my Virus TI2 keyboard to the OT's MIDI Autochannel 11, and recording the notes being played back immediately from the OT's track channel 10 (Virus TI2 set to Multi mode, sending on channel 11, track receiving on 10). After I play the four measures I let the OT play back immediately (no stopping) while still in live recording mode. But the dropped notes / filter sweeps will still be present even if live recording mode is off. In the note drop demo you can hear an entire dropped chord at the beginning of the third measure, and several dropped notes in the fourth measure. In the filter drop demo you can hear the filter hit an extreme (and unintended) value right before the fourth measure starts.
