Dean Ford is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His music could best be described as “Sour Bubblegum”, with infectious melodies, crisp production, and captivating vocals, while maintaining a “rock” edge. He has been compared to acts such as Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Neon Trees, and Justin Timberlake. Hailed as one of Maine’s best entertainers, Ford brings a live show that can be summed up in one word. Electric.
Since age 16, Ford has been proving his abilities with the release of five EPs and countless live performances. Now, at age 24, he is finally all in. His most recent EP, “CTRL” was released in March 2012. The album was recorded and co-produced by Jonathan Wyman (Rustic Overtones, Sparks The Rescue, The Other Bones). “CTRL” received a number of glowing reviews, regional air play, and was listed at number 23 on Bull Moose Music’s best selling local albums of the year 2012.
After releasing “CTRL”, Ford hasn’t slowed down. He’s since played a number of high level events, including direct support for Panic! At The Disco, Foxy Shazam, Fitz & The Tantrums, Aaron Carter, and Teddy Geiger. He has written songs for other artists, including Trey Ewald’s “Happy Now”, which was featured in Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch stores throughout the world. In October 2013, he played a sold out Prince tribute concert with Matt “Doctor” Fink (an original member of Prince & The Revolution) as keyboardist for his band.
Recently nominated as “Best Pop-Rock Act” in the Portland Phoenix, the singer is currently finishing his next album scheduled for a mid-2015 release.
