DAYAW Manila Giving praise to rhythmic substances, an offbeat group of individuals assembled to give birth to an inbred Manila sound that is Dayaw--a sharp yet caramelised fusion of worldbeat, jazz, rock, and latin music. The progressive percussions of Royce Baronia, Kaloy Aganinta, and Ryan Barros served as foundations for devicing a new breed of tropic worldbeat, that sent Gavino Sabalburo's ragtimed drumming into the psycho-melodic universe of Katrice Reyes’ keys and Iwag Maninantan's jazz flute, completely crashing into the vivid string perceptions of Luigi Aganinta, who partners with the hip-breaking groove of Dieter Bautista's funkathon. The recipe is then topped with Dale Adeva's expanding synths. The collective mind makes sure that the songwriting process is just as dynamic as it is complex. Feeding off of their unitary backgrounds, they aim to penetrate souls of each passerby getting an earful of their unparalleled sound.
