Glyn Phillips, WorldMusic.co.uk --- Davide Lufrano Chaves was born April 4, 1983 in Prato, Italy. With Latin American Costa Rican origins, Davide gained Master degree in Music, with profile in classical guitar, at the Conservatorio Puccini of La Spezia in 2009, under the guidance of maestro Carlo Mascilli Migliorini. In 2005, he ranks fourth in the Italian National Classical Guitar Competition, Daniele Ridolfi. He begins to study music at the age of 8 starting with classical piano, choir and then guitar at the higher music school G. Verdi Prato. Davide studied classical guitar with masters Andriola Daniel and Carlo Mascilli Migliorini; jazz guitar at Berklee Umbria Jazz with teachers Gianni Zei and Riccardo Galardini; flamenco guitar with masters Juan Lorenzo, Oscar Herrero at the Academy of Flamenco Guitar, modern composition; piano with teacher Sabrina Paoli. Currently he’s been working as a performer, teacher and composer in London. He's the guitarist in the band The Magic Tombolinos (nu power ethno music) which won the competition, Evo Music Rooms for Channel 4 in 2010. They played for Rob Brydon show, and Womad 2011. He also fronts the ‘De Fuego’ guitar duo, with Edina Balczo, a flamenco rumba project. They played in Glastonbury and Sziget 2011. Davide is also a guitarist in Surianne's band, Latin rock singer, and songwriter and he collaborates with other musicians in London.
