1 Peter 4;1 - 19 by DaveJones Ministries published on 2017-07-19T10:56:55Z The continuation of our live 8pm Tuesday night bible study. Tonight, 7/18 we looked into 1 Peter and in chapter 4 Peter teaches us that if we have died to Christ we should have also died to sin. And as such we should purpose to walk with Him, and not in the futility of our flesh as we once did. But this takes time, study, and renewing our minds to line up with God's Word. He wraps up this topic in verse 19 with encouraging us to commit our souls to God. We are already committed spiritually when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, but our soul is made up with our personality, morals, and beliefs. As we purpose to grow closer to God through Jesus perfect work on the cross we will, over time, also change any wrong teachings or poor attitudes that may have caused us to make poor decisions before coming to Christ and stumbles us after we come to Jesus.
