Dave Madole Dave Madole Oakland Hi, I suggest sampling, in this order: The last few minutes of the second symphony (called here "Ambiguously Positive Ending"), or starting at about time 8:00 of that piece ("11022004"). The second or fourth movement of the quartet. The intractable first symphony is probably NOT the best place to start although I love it and Joel Taylor's (Remaster) take on it. If you do dig into that piece, start with the second movement. The third movement of the first symphony is probably my favorite of my musical children.
