MIND AND NUMBERS (M.A.N) by Dapodudu

At least One(1) of four(4) Nigerians suffers from one Mental disorder or the other yet there are less than three hundred(300) practicing Psychiatrists in the country. With a population of almost two hundred and fifty (250) million people, there is a devastating 1 : 1,000,000 Psychiatrist to population ratio which in comparison to standard practice ratio is highly inadequate.

Mind And Numbers reveals a surprising plot twist; despite the low number of mental health caregivers in Nigeria, Mental Health Care rarely overwhelms caregivers as people rarely seek mental health help in the hospitals which is as a result of several socio-economic factors.

With the rapid increase in the rate of Mental Health Awareness in the country there is the possibility of MINDS in need of help overwhelming the NUMBER of Mental health caregivers in the country……. How do we then ration the MIND AND NUMBERS ??
