Your habour (UK) - Introduction / THE BRIDGES ARE COMING by Dansk Arkitektur Center published on 2013-03-20T13:01:43Z Copenhagen Harbour is the new major urban space in the city. This year the Bridge Inderhavnsbroen opens along with several smaller bridges, creating an entirely new connection around Copenhagen's inner harbour. That means a new possibility of taking a walk around the harbour, as we for generations have made it around the lakes. "Around the harbour" - that is a completely new figure - both linguistically and culturally. Listen to Tina Saaby, Copenhagen city architect, talking about the importance of the harbour to city life, and listen to Ian Firth, engineer behind the Inner Harbour Bridge, talking about the bridge and its special design. The Podwalk 'Your Harbour' is part of a project created by Danish Architecture Centre. At three selected hotspots in the harbour, you can experience some of the port's pioneering projects and hear tales from the harbour before, now and in the future. The three hotspots are in Havneparken (Islands Brygge) and Soren Kierkegaard Square and in the Harbour Street.
