Hailing from the vibrant city of Atlanta, R&B, jazz and soul/pop recording artist Danii Roundtree hit the ground running with her music career in 2009. Since that time, she's acquired a devoted fan base and made a name for herself throughout the Atlanta music scene by performing at many venues and festivals throughout the area. Danii discovered her love for music at age 11 when she started taking up singing and quickly began performing live. After graduating from high school at Dillard Center for the Performing Arts, Danii attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts with a major in Vocal Performance with a concentration on Jazz Vocals. Danii went on to study musical theater at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in conjunction with The New School in New York City. While still in school, Danii earned the title of "Miss New York USA" in 2008, beating out over 300 contestants. She was the first black woman to win the title in over 10 years, and later went on the represent New York in the nationally televised Miss USA pageant. Danii was then chosen as one of just 20 in the United States to be showcased in Broadway’s summer concert series “Broadway’s Rising Stars.” Her career shifted in 2009 when she competed on the hit television show American Idol. Danii made it to the top 100, but had to leave the show due to illness. Although she didn’t win, Danii caught the recording bug and decided to dedicate her efforts creating her own music. After devoting years to her career as a musician, Danii is now known for her charisma, powerful vocal range, and dynamic signature sound. She's turned many heads in the music industry with her unforgettable live performances and an unmistakable passion that she exhibits both on stage and in the studio. Her single "Crave" received critical acclaim, which has helped her garner a strong fan base and a major street buzz, and led to her getting the opportunity to perform at the 40th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival. Her debut album Memoirs debuted in the fall of 2017. In Roundtree's words: "Memoirs is an album written from true life events. We all have that one love story that ends before it starts, and I just so happen to be a singer-songwriter who documents through song. This album is literally a collection of my memoirs. All the records are personal. The sound has a throwback feel that is jazz-oriented with funk and soul elements, cleverly coined as 'retro'." Danii Roundtree is currently touring in support of Memoirs and working on new music in the studio.
