Daniel Rata Daniel Rata Perth Daniel Rata grew up in New Zealand and moved to Australia to pursue his musical dream. With a lifelong love of music and cultural Maori background, Daniel clearly saw his future as a musical artist. Daniel is a unique and very gifted musician with superbly rich and warm vocal tone. Perhaps due to his cultural roots and a deep personal appreciation for a variety of musical styles, his music is free of conformity. As a singer songwriter Daniel has produced a broad repertoire of original songs – finding his own niche and style of writing. Daniel’s independently released his debut album ‘Suspended In Time’, won both critical acclaim and strong sales in Australia Daniel’s international exposure commenced in Cannes, France, at the MIDEM Music Festival, where he met and began collaborating with renowned UK producer John Ravenhall. Daniel wrote and recorded several tracks in London, and then travelled to Aarhus, Denmark, to co-write four tracks with acclaimed songwriter and producer John Gordon. Daniel then voyaged to the USA, and recorded all tracks at Pressure Point Studios in Chicago with Larry Sturm (Sound Engineer), Carey Deadman (Orchestrator and Arranger) including musicians from the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. Daniel released two EPs “Sunshine” and “Life,” both achieving strong rotations and plays particularly in the USA. Daniel recently returned to New Zealand where he commenced writing new songs, drawing inspiration from his homeland. In 2018 Daniel is set to record these tracks and collaborate again with John Gordon in Aarhus Denmark. Daniel is proud and excited to express his cultural experiences through his music, and he is working with the aim of releasing his third EP toward the end of this year.
