Dan DiPrete Dan DiPrete is a solo artist/producer, living and recording in Rhode Island and the Turks and Caicos Islands. He played multiple instruments growing up and was a member of college bands as a vocalist and drummer. He then went on to medical school and subsequently established and sold medical imaging businesses, before circling back to music. Returning to his musical roots, including drums and keys, he expanded to guitar while beginning instruction in recording, audio engineering and production under the direction of Michael White (of Whitney Houston, Rolling Stones and David Bowie recording fame). In 2018 he produced and released his first single, a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine which was included on a compilation album entitled, Love Is Love (Artists for Equality), alongside Grammy award winning artist Tiny Tavares and France Joli. His second release, also in 2018, was a re-make of the 1980’s Psychedelic Furs hit, The Ghost In You. Both releases, Imagine and The Ghost In You were recognized by The Recording Academy for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards (February 10, 2019) in the Best Pop Solo Performance categories. Dan’s first original, “Sometimes,” written for his daughter’s wedding, made the 2020 Grammy ballot for “Record of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.” Dan DiPrete’s recordings have a predominantly pop rock/blues foundation with additional influences from modern indie, acoustic, R&B and funk.
