Larmkunst Final Theme (disquiet0349) by Daniel Diaz published on 2018-09-07T11:54:00Z Shared for Disquiet Junto Project 0349: Got Glitch? "If you develop an ear for sounds that are musical it is like developing an ego. You begin to refuse sounds that are not musical and that way cut yourself off from a good deal of experience." John Cage (1912 - 1992) Some years ago I was infatuated with the “glitch and noise” style, all the “no-input mixer” and plain-noise music making. My use of glitch&noise ended up on two interesting things, first I was commissioned a soundtrack just because the director wanted” more noise than music” in the score. He gave me 2 hours of recordings from different sources of noise, glitches, interferences, insects etc I loved it and got the idea of a full musical album that I ended up doing using noise and glitch along with more traditional instruments and composing (Larmkunst, I shared some track from that in previous junto challenges) For this “Larmkunst Theme” I created glitches out of analog and tape delays, set to infinite feedback and saturation. The long coda produced by these distorted delay tails is used in edited form here and there to produce textures and contrast with the simple and pure acoustic theme. The main theme is already online here: https://soundcloud.com/daniel-diaz/larmkunst-main-theme It’s a duo acoustic guitar performance But this final version develops further the use of glitches adding radio noise and interferences and it’s a duo Acoustic Guitar + Upright bass. I'm pretty sure there's a place where a glitch love can be accepted. At least just for one day.. 2018-09-11T06:13:12Z Comment by Vonna Wolf Sounds like an afternoon in a countrYside. Where the other side is fighting a war and a couple of lovers from each side are enjoying the hill untill they realize a glitch love like this will never be accepted. An amazing, atmospheric constellation of acoustic and electric fields, softly underlain with ambient fuzz. Worth repeat listenings. 2018-09-09T00:29:19Z Comment by encym III Massively beautiful 2018-09-08T22:10:16Z Comment by Daniel Diaz @muterial: thank you! 2018-09-08T16:31:14Z Comment by Daniel Diaz @zeromeaning2: wow, thanks, glad you like it. 2018-09-08T16:31:01Z Comment by Daniel Diaz @musicbits: thanks a lot 2018-09-08T16:30:36Z Comment by musicbits the atmosphere you craft through mechanical and environmental noise is capitvating 2018-09-08T15:34:41Z Comment by muterial glitch and guitar composition both wonderful! 2018-09-07T22:40:21Z
