DWP Radio #2 w/ Emma & Jasmín ~ 20 Feb 2018 by Dance with Pride published on 2018-03-04T13:23:04Z A tribute to Donna Haraway, Technology & Nature on Red Light Radio. @Emmmature & @Jasminhoek explore the themes of the show further and share their relationship to each track in the detailed tracklist, link below ----> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sAHF00O9Ny54Ccq1iELBlUcivl64YpsJ In 1984 Donna Haraway wrote “the cyborg would not recognize the Garden of Eden; it is not made of mud and cannot dream of returning to dust”. In her manifesto she famously questioned the nature/culture binary through the figure that inhabits both, paving the way for a feminism that explores options beyond the ever-returning loop into the female, the controlled, the earthly. Through the cyborg Haraway points out that technology is not inherently masculine: it can and needs to be claimed by those that do not identify as male or masculine as well. Women, trans- and non-binary producers are doing this work, navigating and instructing the hardware that creates sound. This radioshow will highlight their work, and especially the ways in which these sounds are (like the cyborg) both: finding its references to the mechanical and the nural.
