licking the envelope by dance robot dance published on 2011/03/06 03:56:23 +0000 Guitar controlling the modular. This is a G&L ASAT classic plugged into my modular synth through a Doepfer A119 external input module. The A119 has an envelope that here controls the frequency of an A147 LFO, which is clocking a Z8000 sequencer, which is playing a uLFO, which is running through a Z2040 low pass filter, whose cutoff is being modulated with the same envelope that is toying with the LFO. Make sense? Essentially, the louder the guitar is played, the faster the sequencer plays, and the longer until the filter shuts it off. The left channel is the modular, and the right channel is the guitar. Hear how they play together... My guitar playing is lacking (I've been playing for less than two months so give me a break) and there's a hum in the system somewhere that I need to figure out. But this is more fun with a modular than I've had in some time. More to come.
