anxieties (phonogene shadows 02) by dance robot dance published on 2013/02/08 03:51:42 +0000 The cast has come off of my broken hand and I can play again. I also happened to pick up a Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows delay module for my synth. I owned one of these a couple of years ago and missed it. (see: https://soundcloud.com/dance-robot-dance/sets/the-sounds-of-sounds-of-shadows) So what we have hear is my Sparkly Blue Jazzmaster plugged into the modular via a Doepfer A119. It's path to your ears is lengthy and convoluted, but the basic gist is that it passes through a bit crusher (Doepfer A189), then to the Phonogene, a band-pass filter (Cwejman MMF1), and to the Sound of Shadows where the delay time is modulated by a sequenced Pressure Points. The PP is controlled by the Pamela's Workout clock, which also sends a pulse to play the Phonogene on the beat. I start by just playing a few notes on the guitar and looping that on the Phonogene, and then it all goes a bit mad. The guitar is already distorted by the cheap low headroom on the A119, and the bit crushing takes that and squeezes a little harder. I'll never stop loving the loopy bits I can get out of the Phonogene. The gift that keeps on giving. Enjoy.
