Cyrax Milano CYRAX is the meeting of creative elements from Milan (Italy). During the year 2012, a 24-aged singer with strong passion for lyrical music was intended to realize a fucking-cool-prog-heavy-metal album: he was Marco Cantoni, who subsequently shared his ideas on the project with guitarists Antonio Rubuano and Paolo Musazzi. Then they started writing original music: driven by the artistic direction provided by Marco, songs were composed during winter 2012-2013, and gradually assumed strong "progressive" traits. During that time, a young singer, Davide De Stefano, offered important contributions in both writing vocal lines and making of choirs. In the beginning of 2013, Cesare Ferrari (bass guitar) and Paolo Biocchi (drums) join the group; the second being a session-men. Then, in March the group enter the studio for the making of debut album Reflections, which has been published by Musea on October 26 of the same year. Despite other members' opposition, after the recording sessions Antonio confirms his decision to leave the band. The band is very thankful to Antonio for his great technical and human support. The great reception Reflections received from the prog-metal followers made CYRAX perceive to be almost on the right way: so nothing could follow the studio-work but another studio-work. However, the continuation of the fist album had to deal with the lack of a second guitarist and a (permanent) drummer: they will be Filippo Ferrari and Lorenzo Beltrami, who continued to keep himself in the CYRAX team. The new album is entitled Pictures, and it has been recorded during summer 2014 in the same place where the first one was created: RecLab Studios, still equipped with sound engineers Larsen Premoli and Matteo Bolzoni. Marco Cantoni writes the lyrics; the music is by Paolo Musazzi under the supervision of Marco who also designed all the vocal lines. Pictures includes the contribution of many musicians: in addition to the keyboard/piano stuff (again performed by Larsen) there is violin, cello and various singers who assisted choir recording and made possible the presence of female solo-voices. After some years and some lineup changes, Cyrax is releasing a new album in december 2020 under Wormholedeath Records.
