Hennessy, chief historian and chief of interpretation at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, began his career with the National Park Service at Manassas NB a very long time ago. He is the author dozens of articles and essays, of three books, including “Return to Bull Run: The Campaign and Battle of Second Manassas” and “An End to Innocence: The First Battle of Manassas," and has contributed essays to a half-dozen other volumes.
