Making sound decisions to solve complex problems need not be overwhelming, says Cheryl Strauss Einhorn, an award-winning journalist and Columbia Business School adjunct professor.

She has developed a four-step method that boils down the process of untangling complex problems and makes sure the research, processing, reflection, and feedback necessary for an informed a decision are each given their rightful attention.

“I originally developed this system to help me do better at my work,” says Ms. Einhorn. “My background is in investigative journalism.”
