Cultivated Sound Sessions - CSS054: SHINOBY by Cultivated Sound

This week we have special guest Shinoby from Verona Italy, in the early 2000’s as the alias of Omar Contri. In this mix, he will launch us far away into industrial hemisphere where we will be lost and found in a different consciousness before he allows us to land again. In 2014 ISTHEWAY imprint appeared, interspersed with DJ mixes for the likes of Inverted Audio, Hypnotic Groove and Intergalactic FM, and began to catch the attention of the likes of Madteo, Samo DJ and Jamal Moss aka Hieroglyphic Being, who would later go on to remix 2015’s “Sensory Deprivation Tank”, “.T.S.G” and 2016’s “Do You Know We Exist?” respectively.

2016 also saw Shinoby team up with the recently reborn proto-machine funk outfit Hypnobeat, now consisting of Helena Hauff and original founder James Dean Brown on the raw, experimental acid 12”, “All Things Pass Into The Night”. More recently, Shinoby curated and composed the soundtrack of the re-released “Film Stenopeico” by Paolo Gioli which is out on his sub-label ISTHEWAY.tv. His first 2xLP debut "Celestial Bliss" was released last August and it's constantly supported and played by artists like Helena Hauff, Detroiter, Ontal, and much more. As uncompromising and unapologetic behind the turntables as he is in the studio, Shinoby’s off-kilter or straight 4 to the floor beats, near-distorted bass, tripped-out vocal cuts and non-stop desire ensure an exciting 2017 awaits us all.
