CoolSerbia Cool Serbia New York Cool Serbia is a Brooklyn band made up of three friends, Raz Khandpur, Renan McFarland, and Caleb Harmon. The trio first came together in Austin in 2011 after playing in previous projects like Ringo Deathstarr, International Waters, and Low Line Caller. Two SXSW appearances and one East Coast tour later, the band relocated to Bushwick in anticipation of the release of their debut EP. The band’s sound, playfully described as doom-wop, is influenced by a diverse array of artists, like a collision of The Zombies and The Jesus and Mary Chain. The result is a unique aesthetic that comes off as both current and timeless. Live, Cool Serbia’s gained a rep for delivering blisteringly loud pop, with jangly guitars blasted through 100-watt Fender amps matched with kicked-back breezy vocals. The band’s 5-track self-titled EP will be released March 5, 2013.
