Marcus Rezak - "Oceans 413" | Color Red Music by Color Red published on 2020-06-17T04:40:43Z Music Style: Instrumental jazz funk that turns into a cinematic rock orchestration of guitar. Musical Influences: Wayne Krantz, Scofield, Keith Karlock, Tal Wilkenfeld, Snarky Puppy... Musical Inspiration: The music for this track was inspired by my years exploring jazz, funk, and progressive rock music. I composed this song myself and later brought in the musicians to record on it. I wanted a funky intro that grabbed the soul of the listener followed by a gripping melody that makes you wanna make a stank face and sing it back all at the same time. Lengthy improv solo sections featuring Bill Evans on the first section, Joel Cummins, and myself highlight the track along with the outstanding groove and chops of Kris Myers and Arthur Barrow. The middle section of the song ft. Joel Cummins taking a solo over an electronic rock groove that builds into the ethereal cinematic guitar solo spanning over 4 minutes, nodding to the jazz fusion and melodic rock guitarists of time while putting my own flavor for the world to hear. Artist Statement: This is one of my favorite tracks on the entire album because it highlights everyones strengths as musicians and compositionally allows for memorable melodies and grooves. I love the tones and feel overall with how this track came out. As a crowd energizing favorite, this is one of the most requested songs from the album. I was glad to showcase my style and total immersion of melodic cinematic guitar soloing and through composed sections.
