Exocet 014 ))) Aasana ~ 𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑠 by ≋ Collectif Exocet ≋

Co-creator of the Zone Rouge collective (@zone-rouge-zone-rouge) and programmer for the Macadam Club in Nantes (@androgyneproductions), Aasana (@aasana) is a free electron who knows how to draw on a crowd's energy to open a passage towards different worlds, where breaks and IDM would make hope and nostalgia coexist. It is a real treat to experience her performances, generously overflown with all her diverse sensibilities and infused with bass music and organic techno.

In this session, she takes us in a free fall down her imaginary, venturing inside a dark cenote in the heart of the rainforest, where the intensity of tribal rhythms, heavy bass and supernatural sounds resonate together.

The cenotes are places of geological curiosity that link the surface to the underground by the collapse of limestone soils, thus giving access to dark aquatic caves.

Considered as passages to the afterlife by the Mayans who practiced there rituals and offerings, they are also unique natural spaces with dense fauna and flora, including several endemic species. These ecosystems are affected by mass tourism and inappropriate agro-industrial practices, threatening them with toxic chemicals and saline water. The impact of these pollutions have very deleterious effects on both the ecosystems and the local farming communities who rely on the cenotes for drinking water.

The recognition of these phenomena has allowed some cenotes to be placed under institutional protection, even if some conflicts of interest with the tourist economy are emerging. Some local populations are also fighting for the protection of these sources of life.
