I only wanted something else to do but hang around”.
Pet Shop Boys (Suburbia)
Using this lyric from Suburbia as an inspiration, Colin escaped from his sleepy hometown of High Wycombe, making an eight year stop in London before arriving in Ibiza.
Colin has just finished his 15th summer season in Ibiza, where he has held down his twin residencies at Rock Nights and Ibiza Rocks for another year.
Back in the mists of time, Colin was resident DJ at Manumission for nine amazing years and in the Funky Room in Pacha for three years. He has also played regularly at We Love Space throughout the last five years.
For the past eight years Colin has been resident DJ at Rock Nights, which has grown from a party in the local bars of Ibiza to hosting nights in some of the biggest clubs on Planet Earth including Space, (We Love and Café Olé) Pacha and Ushuaia. Ibiza 2013 saw Rock Nights hold parties in Privilege and in Santos Beach Club with their new party concept – Flamingo.
Rock Nights has also spread its wings and visited many cities on the Spanish Peninsula and Europe under the name Rock Nights Tour. Colin is one of the resident DJs for the Tour, which has visited cities such as Paris (La Machine du Moulin Rouge), Ghent (Charlatan), London (Rattlesnake and Zigfrid Von Underbelly), Barcelona (Crappy Tuesdays), Valencia (La3), Madrid (Ochoymedio & Zombie Club) and Seville (Obbio Club).
Colin is also producer and presenter of a weekly radio show called Rock Nights Radio, each Thursday evening at 7 p.m. on Vicious Radio. http://www.viciousmagazine.com/colin-peters-pres-rock-nights-radio/
Summer 2013 in Ibiza Rocks saw Colin spinning at the musical trinity of Ibiza Rocks Hotel, Ibiza Rocks Aftershow & Pikes each Wednesday alongside groups such as Foals, Franz Ferdinand, Chic, Jake Bugg, The Vaccines and Bastille.
Apart from Rock Nights, Colin has graced the DJ boxes of Guilty Pleasures, ASBO, 21st Century Noise and The Hoxton Pony (London), Nasty Mondays and CDLC (Barcelona) Nells and Fabuloso Club (Madrid) FIB Benicassim.
Perhaps the crowning moment of 2013 was when Colin played at the Reading Festival for the second time. Colin Peters and Jeff Automatic did the warm up sets on the Radio 1 / NME stage for artists such as Haim, Phoenix, Azealia Banks and Disclosure, playing to an estimated 30,000 people.
Winter 2013 / 2014 has been a busy period for Colin with DJ sets in London, Ibiza, Madrid, Seville & Valencia and the beginning of his production career with a brilliant re-edit of Guns ‘N’ Roses – Welcome to the Jungle.
Colin considers himself lucky to have found clubs and nights where he can play electronica, dance, forgotten classics of the 80s and full on rock numbers to an appreciative crowd.
