Chinaski started in music very young, breaking his first guitar strings on JimiHendrix, the Beatles, Elmore James ... He discovered hip-hop as a teenager, with the Wu-Tang’s 36 chambers.
Through hip-hop samples, he discovered the African-American music of the 70s, particularly the P-Funk of George Clinton.
As a guitarist or bassist, Chinaski integrates different groups of soul/funk in Paris durig the late 2000s
Cleancut, born to an artistic family (father and mother guitarist jazz singer), also plays its first notes on guitar, leading him to study sound engineering. His hip-hop culture sees the day alongside Chinaski during the golden age of 90 years. He begins the beatmaking around 2005 in the group Walagain Funk Par-ty Band in Paris, as a beatmaker/sound engineer. It was in 2008 that the duo Cleancut & Chinaski truly born, completely focused on beatmaking.
The two childhood friends shape their first beats with MPC, computer and some old records to sample. Their beats are oriented hip-hop/electro, sample-based, synths and distorted, their major influences are : Jay-Dee, Shafiq Husayn, Madlib, Primo, RZA, Alchemist, Muggs, George Clinton, James Brown, Sly Stone, Frank Zappa ...
Cleancut & Chinaski came out in 2011 and 2012 different beats on several mixtapes ("Back to the oldSchool Mixtape, "" Symphony Beatmaker Mixtape ") and a beat tape available for free download (Beat Tape Outtakes).
Note that these two beatmakers are also part of a band of 10 musicians typed "P-funk/electro" (Red Castle Project) running on the scenes in Paris, and work also on a electro/hip hop/jazz live project wich combine : keyboards, turntable/scratch (Chinaski), and several machine (Cleancut).
