The Peter Lougheed (1928-2012) Show by CJSR-FM published on 2013/02/19 20:10:34 +0000 Peter Lougheed, Alberta’s 10th premier, died in hospital of natural causes last week. He was 84 years old. The distinguished politician was a transformative figure in Albertan politics. He’s been described as Alberta’s strongest champion who stood resolute in his goal of defending the province’s energy revenues while advocating for the rights of all Albertans. And he did it all while emanating a sense of integrity and responsibility. On this week’s episode of the CJSR Edition, in a four part interview, University of Alberta Associate Dean of Arts and Political Science professor Lois Harder talks about Lougheed’s political career and complex legacy. Then, in the second part of the program, we take a look at the former premier’s earlier life as a student at the University of Alberta.
