EXCERPT | Auspicious Plastic | Episode 10 | Carrie King by Megan Spencer published on 2018-01-10T01:56:47Z Auspicious Plastic is an independent podcast about precious objects and the stories behind them. This is a five-minute excerpt from "Episode 10", a 22-minute conversation with digital editor Carrie King about her much-loved - and well-travelled! - treasure trove of personal journals. Originally from Ireland and now based in Berlin (Carrie works at a publishing start up), Carrie travels light - except when it comes to her diaries which she can't bear to be parted from. Having written and confided in these books for 20 years (since she was 9), Carrie's lost count of exactly how many she has, but keeps them close in a beautiful old wooden bureau. These much-loved, hand-written tomes contain fragments of Carrie's youth, memory and identity. They are mementos of a life well-lived and reflected upon, as she reveals in this sweet, personal and poetic episode of Auspicious Plastic.
