Auspicious Plastic | Episode 6 | Sarah Pepin by Megan Spencer published on 2017-07-22T14:34:31Z AUSPICIOUS PLASTIC is a podcast about precious objects and the stories behind them. Sarah Pepin is a culture journalist based in Berlin. We met both working as film critics covering the 2017 Berlinale. Visiting her one day I was "met" in her living room by an impressive old wooden sideboard which had belonged to her grandmother. Turns out Sarah and her mother had sent it on a 800km journey from Sarah's original home of Luxembourg to her new one in Berlin. Given the trouble they went to to get it there, I wondered if there might be a "bigger" story behind it, and whether it holds the same kind of sentimental value my Mum's Tupperware does for me. But the conversation was not what I expected: Sarah presents a fascinating and surprising "counter" perspective about precious objects, on this episode of Auspicious Plastic. -- Credits: Interview: Sarah Pepin Presenter/Producer: Megan Spencer Original music: Jeremy Conlon/Cooperblack (used with permission) https://cooperblack.bandcamp.com Logo: Studio Ink www.studioink.com.au Photo: Megan Spencer Thank you: Sarah Pepin for the equipment loan and the interview!
