From BALLROOM MARFA DJ CAMP 2021 from #CVCATX: “Austin’s DJ Raquiqui, Cienfuegos and Pinche Juan had a blast teaching Marfa’s kids how to drop a needle and make a smooth transition. For the final mix, our little DJs picked their own vinyl and came up with a progression of tunes to put together. This is the final outcome of Ballroom Marfa’s DJ Camp 2021. CVC ATX is proud to present: DJ Panda, DJ Venus, DJ Boss Beach, DJ Vin, Lil’ Tay, Da Human 99, DJ Senpai, Lily Lil’ 103, DJ Neon Leon, DJ Logan” About BALLROOM MARFA DJ CAMP 2021: From JUNE 28 - JULY 1, Ballroom Marfa and Marfa ISD hosted a vinyl-only workshop led by the DJs of Chulita Vinyl Club ATX for Marfa students in grades five through eight. The Summer Shake Up DJ Camp was designed to engage the imagination of youth from all musical backgrounds and participants were encouraged to use found music and images to create their own narratives, celebrating personal history and cultural exploration. Throughout the week, students learned and practiced beat-matching, mixing, scratching, and more.
