"Just like last year Chrom Recordings starts the new year with a bang: with a new EP from our own A&R manager Pedro Mercado together with his loyal Belgian studio partner Karada!
With releases & remixes on quality labels such as Parquet, Kling Klong, Proton, Particles, Natura Viva, Manual, One Of A Kind, Anathema,… and several spots in the Beatport Top 100 Charts, Pedro Mercado & Karada need no more introduction in the scene of melodic electronic music.
Next to finding & selecting great artists & tracks for our label, Pedro Mercado had his most busy international DJ year so far with gigs & Chrom showcases all over the world. Karada was also very busy last year with getting into modular eurorack synths in his studio. Their future productions will therefore be made more and more with the integration of the modular workspace. But for now we are really happy the duo made time for their second Chrom EP which contains not less than 3 huge original tracks.
The title track “The System” kicks things off with a powerful deep dark hypnotizing groove which builds up & up untill a truely wonderful epic melodic breakdown. The second track “The Genius” is a more progressive house affair build around a super catchy melody and with a fantastic mesmerizing vocal in the break. And last but not least there is “The Gimmick” which has a compelling rolling percussive groove which accumulates into a real rave melody which will put every dancefloor on fire.
