Christopher Hatswell Christopher Hatswell Adelaide He was an odd fellow, he started with a passion for guitar for three years but began as an amateur developing his skills using the measly volume, mute and play buttons of a media player. Later he began to practice with computer programs and saw that this was something he wanted to pursue and begun doing gigs for friends. The decision to become a DJ was made when he was exposed to the club scene in his 11th year of school with the great Ministry of Sound's Annual and Clubber's Guide releases being his main source of expose for him to the EDM genre. "I watched a video of Cornelius by The [Bloody] Beetroots at home, and I was like, 'I can do that,'" he recalls. "That video clip, I thought it was so cool, everyone getting smashed and hooking up. That was so influential to me, so I was like, 'That could be me, I want to do that'. That was literally it." After saving up, he bought his first deck at 18 and spent exhausting hours practising, Hatsy (Hatswell) finally scored his first gig as a resident DJ on Fridays at at The Bridgey, supporting the local scene. His status has concreted him as a local party starter, and his in-demand sets ensure that he maintains a happy crowd at every gig he plays. Currently, this 20 year old is working on a interstate xcene as welll as international. He now has a multi-light,speaker set-up live show, while maintaining a level-head studying at uni. Chris is the ace at house and retro parties of the local Adelaide Hills party scene. Look out for him soon at a pub and club near you.
