Disquiet Junto Project 0431: Solitary Ensembles x 3
The Assignment: Complete a trio by adding a track to an existing duet by two other musicians.

Process: I picked a random track - 26, and really enjoyed the sense of atmosphere and space. I thought i could add to it and hopefully without obscuring what came before. Thanks to ChalkWalk and moduS ponY for the great track to work with!

I grabbed the track, loaded it in Live and came up with the effected guitar you hear. The stutter glitches in between chords are from Red Panda Particle, tone from Fairfield Randy's Revenge in LPG mode, and a little ehx Memory Boy and a light flange from Roger Linn AdrenaLinn3 for some glue. I kept the part fairly simple since this feels like a textural mood piece to me.

So I was about to upload it, when I discovered I had grabbed the mixed track from ChalkWalk, instead of the stems! I wanted to hear more of the drone part anyway, so I grabbed that and brought that in half way, and panned hard right to pay honor to the original rules (oops!). Also - I realized that Ableton had applied warp to the track, and was playing back at a faster speed! I had a few takes, so was able to expand my part from the takes I had to fill out the whole track after un-warping the original piece. I may also upload the shorter one for fun, but will leave it untagged for the junto.
