For a town just miles from Liverpool, home of the Beatles, the air was thick with the legacy of the Fab Four. Luckily, Chris Lucas – raised in Warrington, England– grew up in a family passionate about music. It was a home where Jim Reeves, Bruce Springsteen, and everything in-between radiated from his father’s stereo.
Chris shared his dad’s love for music, and started playing guitar at 8 years old. He began to write songs and perform at local pubs in his early teens. After a move to the United States, Chris decided to make his music a profession, and began pursuing his dream full-time. It wasn’t long before his song demos caught the attention of Nashville songwriter’s Billy Lawson & Ed Hill. Lucas quickly began to learn the in’s and out’s of the business while honing his craft as a songwriter, eventually securing a production deal with the hit writing duo.
Chris Lucas has toured as Shenandoah’s bass player since 2011, and has been performing his original songs as part of the show. He has also shared the stage with legendary acts such like Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood, Shooter Jennings, Confederate Railroad, John Anderson, The Guess Who, Doug Stone, Craig Morgan, Sherrie Austin and even 80's rock band, Warrant.
In his time off stage, Chris also has a passion for film and television. He has a regular acting coach and was recently cast as Gael Garcia Bernal’s photo-double for the Kate Hudson film A little bit of Heaven.
BJ Thomas has recently recorded Chris’ song Walk on for the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Doonby, starring John Schneider (2013)
