There I saw my first opportunity to play as an assassin, a customised character with custom weapons and even custom loadouts. I quickly discovered that my favourite loadout was nothing more than the standard Undead Monkey outfit with two handguns. My old AC3 multiplayer experience was rotten, but I was desperate to replay the campaign. For some reason, the multiplayer aspect of AC3 was unlocked after I played the campaign. I had now set myself a task. I wanted to get back to the game's original setting and knock back a few of those collectible heads. This is where Assassin's Creed Revelations comes in.
If you're a player who's hankering for a stealth game then Revelations is a no-brainer. Though I'm sure most of you will be spending a few days playing around with it, the multiplayer aspect is actually more important than the Uplay and PSN versions. As of today, all PS3 owners will be able to wipe the slate clean and go online, creating an all-new multiplayer environment.
With the removal of the Uplay, I'm sure the majority of you will be trying out the single-player options. Despite being in a very similar location, the game doesn't share anything in common with AC3's story. There are no side missions, just recruitment seeks and hidden containers to find. If anything, Revelations sets itself up very differently to the other games. With the other games, I was able to explore and experience everything on my own terms. The levels came at me evenly, with some portions ridiculously hard. ACR seems to favour the hard portions more than the average game.
The online modes are great in the fact that they're free-form. You'll get sent to the game and you'll play by yourself. Crucially, there's no "match making" so, if you get bored, you can head off into the wilderness and take on the missions alone. Of course, if you really want to prove what you're capable of, you could save your progress and see how long it takes to beat the game.
