Multi-disciplinary artist, whose work incorporates music production, live performance and graphic design. An avid mountaineer.
Having grown up in the post-industrial bleakness of 90’s Katowice, he was originally drawn to graffiti art, and soon enough to the music that often accompanied it at the time – classic electro and industrial.
These twin interests have fuelled his creative endeavours ever since, leading him on the one hand to study and eventually teach at the city’s Academy of Fine Arts, and on the other to explore sound and rhythm – from early experiments with desktop micro-sampling, through the discovery of analogue synthesis, all the way to immersing himself in the praxis of live performance, spanning full-impact peak-time sets, far out late night odysseys, and extended offbeat improvisations.
Deftly integrating a wide array of tools basic and arcane, vintage and state-of-the-art, Chino creates machine music par excellence, with a stark, brutalist property to it, but never without a spark of human soul shining through its dense layers. Even in the studio, he remains a live performer at heart, his output having a lot of the spontaneous intensity of his shows.
Chino is also one of the founders of Radar – originally a creditable (if short-lived) Kraków club, surviving as a collective and an event series, both crucial to the city’s underground scene. Apart from regular performances, and taking part in shaping policy, Chino is in charge of Radar’s visual aspect, where his penchant for converging music and art finds one of its most pronounced outlets.
He has been releasing on Recognition, S1 Warsaw, Holger, Altered States Tapes and Shtum.
His musical exploits have taken him as far as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Georgia and Albania. And Germany.

Dorastając w otoczeniu szarości Katowic lat 90-tych szybko uległ magnetyzmowi graffiti oraz muzyki, która często mu wówczas towarzyszyła – klasycznego electro i industrialu.
Te wczesne zainteresowania poprowadziły go w kierunku studiów na katowickiej ASP, gdzie obecnie pracuje, oraz ku eksperymentom z dźwiękiem – począwszy od wczesnych doświadczeń z mikro-samplingiem, poprzez odkrycie dla siebie syntezy analogowej, aż do głębokiego zanurzenia w praxis występów na żywo, obejmujących zarówno gwałtowne wybuchy technologicznej energii, jak i całonocne, wielowątkowe improwizacje.
Pozostaje performerem również w studiu, nadając swoim nagraniom spontaniczny charakter występów na żywo. Stale podejmuje próby przekroczenia czystej narzędziowości swojego muzycznego machinarium tak, aby przemawiało jego własnym głosem – szorstkim i surowym, ale bezpośrednim i szczerym.
Współtworzy wreszcie Radar – dawniej klub, obecnie kolektyw oraz cykl imprez – gdzie oprócz regularnych występów odpowiada za wizualny charakter projektu, zgodnie ze swoją filozofią pracy na styku muzyki i sztuki.
Poza występami w całej Polsce odwiedził również Kazachstan, Tadżykistan, Ukrainę, Rosję, Gruzję, Izrael, Albanię oraz Niemcy. Jego dyskografia obejmuje wydawnictwa dla Recognition, S1 Warsaw, Holger, Altered States Tapes i Shtum.
