Chevonne Jones Chevonne Jones London Chevonne Jones grew up listening to an eclectic array of music. Her first loves include Bob Marley, John Holt and Motown – all the music her mother played in her youth. Chevonne has sung in choirs from the age of 13 and her first instrument was the flute. Throughout her 20’s she decided to take a risk and train as a professional singer and has spent 7 years training with Royal Academy of Music trained opera singer Sandra Scott. She is now a jazz vocalist with vocals reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald, Bille Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. Chevonne is known for her lush vocals, dynamic stage presence and commanding knowledge of jazz harmony, which she has gained by studying Jazz and Pop musicianship and composition at Goldsmiths University. She has also taken part in various workshops, including the Jazz Vocal Summer School at Guildhall, led by Scott Stroman and Gitika Partington. She has sung with some of London’s amazing jazz musicians and aspires to perform at London jazz festivals.
