Red Fox Run can be categorized simply as indie rock. What that means exactly is unknown to the band, but they love to play it. In their first year together, Red Fox Run was rated Number One by Denver Modern Musicʼs Summer 2011 Denver Underground Music Chart. Daniel Rondeau fronts the group as a guitarist and vocalist, with Josh Hester and Lucas Henderson filling out the sound with vocal harmonies, tasty guitar bits, keys and even bass. Tristan Ringering holds down the mad beats on his trap set. Like so many in the "indie rock" genre, classic rock greats (such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan) and some vintage ideologies (à la punk and prog rock) have heavily influenced their music, but it is their more modern influences, such as Manchester Orchestra, the Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Lovedrug, and the Strokes that shine through most prominently. Late in the summer of 2010, Red Fox Run began its assault on Denver's music scene. With a growing fan base, many local shows under their belt, and their debut album, [take]ctrl, the band is hungry to continue expanding their horizons and accomplish bigger and better things.Running on a set of original songs, co-written by Rondeau and Hester, Red Fox Run has been playing around Denver and enjoying a growing network of fans since they began. They have performed at festivals and venues such as The Denver Post Underground Music Showcase, Higher Ground Music Festival, Casselmanʼs, the Seawell Grand Ballroom, the Hi Dive, Herman's Hideaway, the Larimer Lounge, among others, and they have performed on WKRP Pirate Radio and Mile High Underground Radio.A shared desire to support humanitarian causes has led the band to partner with organizations such as Love 146, a local anti-human trafficking organization, and Women with a Cause, at whose "Play it Forward" event, Red Fox Run got a rare opportunity to perform in the Seawell Grand Ballroom in the Denver Center for Performing Arts.Backed up by an energetic live show and their new LP, Red Fox Run are geared up to take their music to the streets of Denver and eventually the world. (They vehemently refuse to play anywhere that does not have streets because you canʼt have street cred without streets and even if you could, what good would it do you?).
