Luiz Zen (also known as Cheap Konduktor), Brazilian from Curitiba / PR, has been involved with music since his very early ages, having learned how to play the guitar and keyboard at 9 and 13, respectively, and also playing at some bands during his adolescence.
The extreme ease in assimilating sounds, rhythms, chords, melodies, playing music "by ear" and distinguish between the various nuances and details of each song makes him stand out among the others. And it was in electronic music where he found a very favorable environment for stimulating even more such musical skills.
By 2003, Luiz Zen began his deep journey through the world of electronic music, participating in many electronic parties and festivals, within and outside of his country of origin. Since then, he has shown such a huge curiosity for watching what other DJs do and play, their techniques and malice, that he decided to go further, learning the art of DJing.
Therefore, in mid-2010, Luiz Zen spent months committed and extremely focused on learning the art of DJing, the techniques and history of electronic music at AIMEC (International Academy of Electronic Music), in Curitiba, where he could also share and learn from life and professional experiences of some of the best-known DJs and producers in the scene, such as Raul Aguilera, Matteus B., Ilan Kriger and Rafael Araujo. At that time, he managed to be one of the finalists in a DJ competition (duel), which took place at Liqüe Club and also was indicated as a breakthrough DJ in 2010 and 2011.
Influenced by famous names like Cari Lekebusch, Stephan Bodzin, Adam Beyer, Oliver Huntemann, Perfect Stranger, Mauro Picotto, Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Anthony Rother, Umek, just to name a few, and thanks to several years of devotion to the electronic music world, the DJ has collected a diverse musical background enough to feel comfortable walking through styles like Techno, Minimal Techno, Tech House, among other electronic mixtures.
CHEAP KONDUKTOR, his official codename, has been highlighted in the Brazilian scene, receiving great feedback from the crowd, consequently being invited to play at renowned and well established nightclubs as Eazy Club (Sao Paulo), CLUB!, Danghai Club, Liqüe Club, FIELD Club (SC), Park.Art, and also in open air parties and festivals such as Respect Lost Festival (SP), Fusion Festival, Brasuca Open Air, Ecotrance, among others. Had the pleasure of sharing the stage with DJs and producers such as Oliver Huntemann (DE - Ideal Audio), Gaiser (DE - M_nus), Anderson Noise (Noise Music), DJ Anna (Entourage), Microdizko (DE), Weekend Heroes aka Time Lock (Israel), Lish (Israel - Iboga), Battousai (EN - Magnitud Records), Greencross aka Daniel Gavilan (EV - Different is Different Records), DJ Murphy (Entourage), DJ Mandraks (Entourage), Alex S (SP Groove ), Rodrigo Carreira (Synk Rec), Oblivion, among others.
Also, in 2011 he participated in the international event called Latin America Technothon, invited by the English radio FNOOB, where many Latin American DJs present their sets in a marathon lasting nearly two days with no interruption, taking the responsibility to be the only one representing Brazil at the event!
CHEAP KONDUKTOR is mainly dedicated to TECHNO, also passing through Tech House and Minimal Techno. With energetic and explosive sets, he makes use of a mixture of performatic style with a refined technique in effects, in contrast with quieter moments, focused on ensuring a great experience to the crowd.
