I love you fellers 2019-05-08T16:49:51Z Comment by Sean D. Daily This letter from Peterson is painful to listen to because I was like that once. I was sure I'd figured out the workings of the human heart and the universe when I was in college, too, and it moved me to tears just to think about it. I think everyone does around that age. But I grew out of that, because *I was wrong.* I don't think Peterson ever did. 2018-09-08T18:11:30Z Comment by Sean D. Daily Man, Kermit the Frog is a dick. 2018-09-08T17:49:07Z Comment by O.D.Labs Did you stooges seriously spend an hour critiquing a book you never read? 2018-06-20T21:35:51Z Comment by Eliman8 III @lftspodcast: It's meant to be ironic lol. But it's still true. His word salad and redefining common words is a ploy to have common ground on wide subjects so that he can relate with many but specify "his" already discarded philosophy as relevant. 2018-05-24T13:01:30Z Comment by Live From The Studio @eliman8-iii: "... anyone with an open mind could realize how ridiculous Peterson's way of conveying his thoughts are." If you can't see the fundamental irony in that statement, we'll probably never see eye to eye on this one. But that's ok. Peace and Love - Jim 2018-05-24T00:59:41Z Comment by Eliman8 III @lftspodcast: Neither did they intend to make it much more than that although anyone with an open mind could realize how ridiculous Peterson's way of conveying his thoughts are. 2018-05-23T03:07:39Z Comment by Live From The Studio @eliman8-iii: But you're evaluating my critique on a scale that you created... I didn't come here to debunk a comedy podcast point-by-point. You decided that. My intent was to analyze the thought processes and assumptions that led to the overall cheapness and closed-mindedness of this segment. I discussed their preemptive defensiveness and bias, their patronizing characterization of his fans, and the overall irony of their presentation. That was my objective, and that's what I did. Their objective was to present a comedic editorial discussion of Jordan Peterson's book. As an editorial discussion, this clearly can't be taken seriously - as there is not a solitary moment of fair representation given to the "opposing" view. As a comedy, this was a hacky circle jerk of banal, safe opinions and woke dogma that could only appeal to those who already exist within their echo chamber, and no one else. 2018-05-22T20:08:44Z Comment by Eliman8 III @lftspodcast: And also you were basically making claims that you provided no evidence with and to which I really couldn't find except for how they were treating Peterson's fans. 2018-05-22T15:42:44Z Comment by Eliman8 III @lftspodcast: They do joke a lot I agree and that's really the point but later into the podcast they also agree with some of Peterson's points albeit with the dismay of saying how basic they are. I'm not sure if you listened to it all but they clearly also attempted to analyze what was in the book as well, but like I said I think it was mainly to entertain and see how ridiculous some of Peterson's statements are. They also have legit critiques of how unoriginal Peterson's philosophy is and how it's genuinely mostly discredited anyhow. But yeah you gave even less reason in the previous comment beforehand to critique them than they critiqued Peterson, which is why I called it even more shallow, because your intent was to do just that and theirs wasn't as they were mostly here for shits and giggles. 2018-05-22T15:37:02Z Comment by Live From The Studio @eliman8-iii: I'm interested to know what makes this a shallower critique than theirs... We're talking about a comedy podcast whose book review consisted of woke jokes and shitty Kermit impressions, and yet my general analysis of what I believe to be the flaw in their approach is somehow MORE shallow. This segment is a pander piece to people that already agree with them. There was no room for an alternative perspective in their thinking. That's why they're wrong imo. - Jim 2018-05-21T17:15:09Z Comment by Eliman8 III @lftspodcast: I mean you could give reason to why they're wrong or just have even MORE shallow critique then theirs. 2018-05-21T16:15:41Z Comment by Live From The Studio You guys are so focused on confirming your bias towards Peterson that you fail to examine any of his individual points beyond a surface level. You are so programmed to think in terms of "What is he implying? Why would he say it like that?" that you don't even allow yourself to move beyond these mental blocks and dig into the actual substance of his ideas. At every turn, you preemptively draw false implications on society and politics from his statements and shoot them down before considering the validity of them through a neutral lens. You then make the misguided assumption that all of his "fans" are equally short-circuited by this type of rhetoric and are simply appealed to by its "edginess." What's most ironic about this entire critique is that you lampoon him and his listeners for being shallow thinkers while delivering perhaps the most shallow interpretation of a deep concept imaginable. All that being said, much love from Baltimore and props on the listeners. - Jim 2018-04-17T21:45:30Z Comment by The Serfs Starchildren vs moonkids racewar 2018-04-02T21:35:02Z Comment by Rick O'Brien @babel-touch-heaven: Saw it, the premise was flawed from the start. He did a video recently comparing Chomsky to Anthony Fantano, and it's so fucking hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=743EjjA_iO8 I would love to hear if you have anything to say about it. 2018-03-26T04:38:54Z Comment by bwp Interesting show – first I’ve heard of Peterson – I’m too old to read his book. I have been reading Shuja’s work at Viewpoint – insightful stuff. What I want to ask you to do is count of the number of homo-erotic references you make when Amber is not on the show and compare that with the number when she is on the show. If that number is higher, it signifies the boys at play in the boy’s club, no? Does it make sense that she make a homo-erotic reference? I think there is a point there about brain chemistry and hierarchy. Being an inclusive socialist is difficult work – you can see how difficult in Peter Watkins film La Commune (Paris, 1871) 2018-03-25T12:38:22Z Comment by Four-Three-Five Recorder Soylent Musk is people! 2018-03-24T04:59:45Z Comment by gamerunknown To be honest, to accept to be filmed on the show, they probably had to be fairly on the cusp of enlightened. Any scenes where they demonstrate overt masculine stereotypes were probably constructed by the producers 2018-03-23T11:26:15Z Comment by gamerunknown They also don't have fully developed theory of mind, so he may literally not have known what he was doing 2018-03-23T11:03:01Z Comment by Chow Amazing episode.
