Pick up their new album, Wide Awake!, here: https://www.roughtrade.com/us/music/parquet-courts-wide-awake Comment by João F Medina i'm sorry to have to comment this here but maybe it was you who lost touch and need to meet other people or make better friends? it's always been acceptable to enjoy mundane stuff, and those feelings are usually personal and not a symptom of some crazy society. well that was me, a person from the internet. 2018-09-06T08:22:44Z Comment by @okthxbb obviously im gonna have to defend soundcloud a bit here but. I honestly think there are more shitty indie bands than shitty soundcloud rappers. And there's nothing wrong with it anyway. Most musicians aren't that good. it's a super unrewarding field that takes a lot of effort. We should really just be happy that being a musician is so popular right now. 2018-08-22T22:34:19Z Comment by « bootleg portico » This conversation about Soundcloud rap is the most out of touch shit ive heard in a long time...its a platform, not a genre 2018-08-22T12:01:52Z Comment by Robert Fitz Why can't I download this podcast, damn it! 2018-08-21T13:40:02Z Comment by Dylan James Perkins One great thing about UBI in my view would be the ability of people to devote themselves to their art without obsessing about their ability to simply survive 2018-08-21T07:37:25Z Comment by @okthxbb eyeroll emoji 2018-08-20T22:42:02Z Comment by Catholic Feel Really enjoyed this! Someone tell Amber more interviews with musicians, artists, you know. That'd be cool. Also getting bands or whatever to announce a tour or some crap would be good so then P4k, etc. would have to link you guys lol. 2018-08-20T18:01:34Z Comment by Catholic Feel This is a great distinction. Some of it is clearly a reaction (to something). A good example other than pitch/speed is the abundance of ad-libs (among other things) and @slugchrist is an artist who's done something different and even referred to this as maybe abstract expressionism of sorts. And maybe instead purely acting as an escape, it's seeking transcendence instead or in conjunction. 2018-08-20T17:40:29Z Comment by Catholic Feel This encapsulates that well (less rappy but still) https://genius.com/Lil-peep-avoid-lyrics 2018-08-20T17:07:08Z Comment by Timothy Robbins I like Billy Bragg. 2018-08-20T16:23:22Z Comment by potatoesogrady jeff rosenstock go on chapo 2018-08-20T15:27:05Z Comment by potatoesogrady RIP death by audio 2018-08-20T15:24:09Z Comment by May Ihelpu Fuck you Amber...Quincy Jones said The Beatles were overrated.
