Chris Ferrara is the quintessential product of pop.
From day one, Chris has been destined to be a performer. With both parents being heavily influenced by the performing arts, it was almost too perfect that Chris began his journey into the world while his mother was at choir practice.
At a young age, Chris found an extreme comfort level with music. By age 3, he had learned the Star Spangled Banner and sang it every time he saw the American Flag. His parents got him involved in church choirs, school plays, and band, and in an effort to keep him well-rounded, they enrolled him in town sports programs. He excelled at baseball, held his own in basketball, and eventually left the gridiron to hold leading roles in Grease and Les Miserables in the Sharon High School Theatre Guild. Throughout his teenage years, Chris was able to use poetry as a outlet and later used those skills to become a songwriter.
During his senior year of high school, Chris's life took a dramatic turn when an injury shattered any and all hopes of a career in baseball. Rocked to the core, he found solace in his music, rekindled his love of the art, and hasn't looked back since.
He has fronted multiple bands in the Boston area (Kingston 530, The Common Good, Boston Common Band, Ocean State), shared stages with Gin Blossoms, Edwin McCain, Howie Day, Joe Bachman, and Scott Stapp, and he is now expanding his abilities to a solo project :: Chris Ferrara LIVE.
Armed with an acoustic guitar, a microphone, and an insatiable need to make people smile, Chris delivers a performance that will certainly keep you singing and dancing well in the night. His guilty pleasures are cheesy pop songs and Disney tunes, but he plays anything from country to oldies and pop to rock with a strong focus on pleasing the requests of the crowd. After all, when your influences range from Boyz II Men to Foo Fighters, Michael Jackson to Eminem, The Temptations to NEEDTOBREATHE, and everything in between, chances are you're going to have something for everybody.
Mix one part comedy, four part harmonies, and an infectious attitude, and you'll have yourself a healthy dose of Chris Ferrara.
