Trudo Lemmens, Pandemic Clinical Triage Protocols (The Ethics of COVID) by C4eRadio: Sounds of Ethics

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, triage protocols and guidance documents have been drafted to facilitate decisions about access to critical care in situations of acute shortages. Several of these have evoked debate about their compatibility with human rights standards, even when they are presented as based on objective clinical criteria. This presentation will explore why some of the Canadian documents are discriminatory and how the concerns they raise can be addressed.
