Cats&Torch A Torch and Catacombs guy so yes I'm old......But I KTF Black Country Black country born and bred. First heard Northern Soul at a local youth club and knew straight off that this was my style of music. Joined the Catacombs Club in Temple Street Wolverhampton (still have my membership card) and spent so many hours listening to Blue Max (RIP) and Pep plus others playing those thumping driving beats. Must have worn out three pairs of shoes dancing my legs off in those sweaty tunnels that made up the Cats We also used to visit the Golden Torch in Stoke for more of the same, another fantastic venue that has fond memories for me. I still have a few cassette tapes recorded live at the Cats on my trusty ITT cassette recorder. Should dust em off and get them transferred to CD or this website some time before the moths eat them Ha. Rode an SX 200 Lambretta complete with all the racks and mirrors. Oh for those crash helmet free days and fish tail Parka's. Nothing smarter than a chap on a Lambretta with his Crombie coat, Ben Sherman shirt, two tone tonic trousers and loafer shoes. Nothing apart from half a dozen of his mates all done up the same that is.....We named our Scooter club 'The Volume' after the Motown albums (Volume one/two/three etc) I was Volume 4..Great days indeed. KTF this music is so fantastic.
