Lay Me Low by Cate Clifford published on 2021-10-13T15:24:20Z "Lay Me Low" is a Shaker hymn that I learned from the singing of Saro Lynch (https://soundcloud.com/saro-lynch) a few years ago. For the Shakers, "Mother" is God. Another version of this song, with more lyrics, has been sung by English folk trio Coope, Boyes and Simpson and others. Either version is ideal for singing in groups, over and over and over until you get tired of swimming in the harmonies. All tips and download revenue from this track will be donated in honor and memory of Laura Durand, mother to my dear friends David and John and a stellar woman I knew too briefly, for whom I was honored to sing this near the end of her life.
