Roy Mann - Evidence Technician Jackson Police Department - This is Our Town by Carl Pelletier published on 2022-02-24T19:51:35Z Listen in as Roy Mann, Evidence Technician for the Jackson Police Department, joins Del Ray in the KJAX (93.5 FM) studio for this week's edition of "This is Our Town." Roy has been heading up our National Prescription Drug Take Back Day here in Jackson with tremendous success. He wanted to let everyone know that there is always a disposal receptacle located in the lobby of the Town Hall (150 E. Pearl Avenue)to drop off prescription drugs that are no longer being used. Last year we received 32 pounds of drugs during our Jackson Take Back Day! JPD Evidence weighed it after we finished. It was a great success, and a special thank you to McKinnley Cox - TCHD and coalition, Jared Weston - JPD Community Service Officer, and Roy Mann - JPD Evidence. Before we started collecting for the take back today Roy had emptied the collection container and processed it, which was a total of 42 pounds and that had been accumulating since April, so approx. 7 months worth.... just to give you a comparison. Well done prevention coalition - 74 pounds of take back in 7 months! Learn more about the Prescription Drug Take Back Program and find a little more about Roy! Each Wednesday morning at 8:30am a representative from the Town of Jackson joins Del Ray on KJAX (93.5 FM) for a new addition of "This is Our Town." Tune in to find out about events, meetings and happenings taking place in the community.
