New Water Rates - This is Our Town - Johnny Ziem - June 2, 2021 by Carl Pelletier published on 2021-06-03T19:06:59Z Listen in as Johnny Ziem, Assistant Public Works Director (and former Florida Gator mascot), stops by the KJAX (93.5 FM) studios to speak with Del Ray about the Town's new water rates. For the first time in 20 years the Town of Jackson studied how our community is charged for water and wastewater. Before this, local water rates were among the lowest in the state, and over the next ten years an investment of approximately $24M in infrastructure will be needed to keep the Town's systems functioning well and protect the environment we love. The new rate structure is designed to promote conservation and water efficiency and to be affordable, predictable, and fair. A residential customer using around 5,000 gallons of water monthly will actually see their bill go down. A neighbor who is not efficient with their water and uses 20,000 gallons monthly will see their bill increase. For more information about what to expect and how your bill will be calculated going forward please see the Town of Jackson's 2020 Water Rates, Wastewater Rates, and Capacity Fee Study: https://www.jacksonwy.gov/585/UPDATES-TO-WATER-RATES Listen in each Wednesday morning to KJAX (93.5 FM) at 8:30am as a representative joins Del Ray to talk about important items taking place in Jackson.
