This is an edit and mix down from a 12-channel installation at Arnolfini, Bristol.

The sounds heard in the composition are all un-manipulated field recordings made on location in the waters above Dunwich.

The underwater microphones were designed so that their protective waterproof casing would gradually break down, allowing their internal circuitry to be destroyed by the salt water and strong currents that they were meant to be recording.

This intentional deterioration caused a comparable decay to be heard in the recordings. This loss-imbued process was important as it mimicked the destruction of the town itself.
