A LITTLE BACKSTORY — "In late winter of this year my dachshund Ghoulie broke his back. It was hard to watch, especially since, for the past seven years, he's followed me in and out of cities, rivers, oceans, and up and down mountains. He's been with me through my own back surgery and was even registered as a California Assistance Animal to help me through recovery. When I saw that he was struggling to move his back legs I knew I had to get him into the doc before he lost his mobility forever. An SPCA visit and and a subsequent surgery quickly dropped a huge load of debt into my lap. Anyone who is in the trenches creating and making something outside of norm conventions knows that you don't bump into a lot of money and security, but you do find yourself surrounded by countless talent and inspiration. Your wealth and insurance is in the magic that your friends conjure through their music, art or even in the way they make dinner. Its not glamorous, its just great. So it goes that I called on some of my buds to throw a little bit of their magic scraps toward Ghoulie in an effort to not only hack down the debt collector but also to celebrate our collective energy and drown out the bad vibes that come with the unexpected harshness of life.Thank you to all the friends who contributed a song, kind words, and even $$$. Thanks to Dusty Peterman for the dapper Ghoulie art and major love to the boys at Burger for their instant and ongoing support! I hope you enjoy."
