Buckner is a producer, a DJ, and a seasoned event planner with more than two decades of experience in the electronic music industry. Currently living in San Francisco, California, he has been fortunate enough to play with some of his personal heroes all over the world and he can lay claim to a handful of commercially released original pieces of music and remixes. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, Buckner was exposed to many pivotal artists as they made their first forays into the States in the mid 1990s, but it was in central North Carolina that he would commit to working in the industry where he quickly made strides in DJing, playing for promoters Hypersonic, Grüv Glü, Radiance and many more, in event production with his Burnin’ Up monthlies featuring local talent and one-off events with international artists such as Dubtribe Sound System, and in production with his first release, “Wild Things” licensed by the Resonance Project, an off-shoot of the popular Afterhours show on WKNC 88.1 FM radio.
From 2002-2009, Buckner returned to Orlando where he continued in the industry by performing A/R for record label Chillin’ Music, holding down many DJ residencies for venues such as Firestone and Sky60 with DJ partner, Chris Domingo (Sony, Nervous Records, Nueva Digital), a 5-year run producing the weekly broadcast, Daytrippin’, for Pulseradio.net, and licensing remixes for Sleazy McQueen’s “Naked” project along with KiNK and Eddie C to Hairy Claw Records and “Champagne Beat Boogie” (co-produced with Sleazy McQueen) to San Francisco’s Deep House Project imprint. His connection to San Francisco grew stronger with regular guest appearances DJing for San Francisco promoters Dax Presents and Santa Cruz’s Raindance Events during this time until he made the jump to the left coast by relocating to San Francisco in 2009.
While in San Francisco, Buckner cemented his industry status by licensing “Lux Musica” to Gigabeat Records, remixing “FWD” (co-produced with Sleazy McQueen) for Kolour Records, producing the beloved Bubble weekly at legendary venue Underground SF (formerly The Top) and DJing regularly at most every venue in the Bay Area from The Endup for promoter listed to the Prismatic undergrounds presented by Andrew Phelan. Through his existing relationship with Dax Lee of Dax Presents, Buckner worked as the Senior Developer for the content delivery system behind Tronic.fm (formerly TheMML) which delivers content used by leading industry entities such as Andrew Kelsey’s Liaison Artists and Jamie Jones’s Hot Creations label and Paradise event websites.
Keeping the vibe alive, Buckner continues to blaze a path in the electronic music world, regularly working with artists ranging from the legendary, like Garth and Jenö of Wicked or house music co-creator Jesse Saunders to current globetrotters, Seth Troxler or Greg Oreck and Holmar Filipsson of Thugfucker. His latest music production has been getting great praise, including an upcoming remix of “Carnival” (vocals by Carla Tutu of the famed party - Tutu Tuesday) by Sunshine Jones (Treehouse Muzique, King Street Sounds, Dubtribe Sound System). And Buckner still finds the time to keep up with event production, recently helping to produce the Sound+Vision art opening event with Sunshine Jones and Mark Farina which featured original artwork and photo prints from both Sunshine and Mark and the debut of Sunshine’s new, 100% live performance.
